MULTIMEDIA TRAINING FACILITY (Part Time)


Multi Media Training provides part time training programmes for individuals that consists of self paced, flexible training methods using the latest Multi Media Technology and Training Packages.

The aims of the training programmes are to provide participants with the skills, knowledge, know-how and competence in the skills of their choice.

Some courses require previous computer experience, but this not the case for all courses.

Individuals should contact their local FAS Employment Services Office or local FAS Training Centre for further information.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: No formal educational qualifications are required.
  • Aptitude: Godd numerical and literacy skills are required.
  • Previous Experience: Some computer skills would be an advantage.

Outline the training location's safety guidelines, rules/regulations, and the course objectives and certification
Outline the main concepts of information and communication technology (ICT) at a general level. Demonstrade knowledge of the different parts of a computer system.
Demonstrate competence in running and managing a personal computer. Explain the main features of a computer and its operating system including managing and organising files and directories/folders, adjusting main settings, using the available help functions, searching for files, moving and copying files, file compression, anti-Virus etc., installing a printer, changing the default printer etc.,
Demonstrate the ability to use a word processing application to create everyday letters and documents, inserting symbols and objects, formatting, styles, tables, mailmerge, etc., Prepare outputs, to include headers and footers, margins page breaks, spellcheck and print.
Explain the concept of spreadsheets and demonstrate the ability to use a spreadsheet to produce accurate work outputs to include: manipulating colums/rows and data in a cell/range of cells, working with formulas, functions and charts etc.,
Explain the concept of a database. Demonstrate competence in using the application creating, editing, sorting, running queries etc.,
Demonstrate competence in using presentation software to include: creating and enhancing a presentation, manipulating slides, working with charts and graphical objects etc.,
Demonstrate knowledge and competence using the internet and a web browsing application. outline the concept of electronic mail (e-mail) and know about other communication options.
Demonstrate an ability to use a word processing application to accomplish tasks associated with creating, saving, editing, formatting and enhancing the appearance of a range of business documents with tables, graphics, etc. ready for distribution to Microsoft Office Specialist.
Use Microsoft Excel spreadsheet package at Microsoft Office Specialist level to carry out tasks associated with developing, formatting and modifying spreadsheets, use standard mathematical and logical formulas and functions and create and modify graphs and charts from the data entered.
Design, manage and maintain a database by modifying, deleting or adding records using forms and tables, retrieving information using advanced query and sort tools including calculated fields and subdatasheet, create and modify reports using advanced tools, integrate database program with other applications including the Web and use a range of access tools for compacting, repairing and backing-up a database.
Create, modify and deliver presentations using a presentation application package to Microsoft Office Specialist level.
Use advanced tools and functions to customise a word processing program, modify command settings, create templates and macros, manage long documents and create tables of content and indexes, integrate word processor with other computer applications, collaborate with others on files, master and sub-documents.
Use advanced tools and functions of a spreadsheet application to customise the software program, modify command settings, create templates and macros, manage multiple workbooks, import and export data from other applications, use a range of analysis and auditing tools, use a range of file and workbook sharing tools and functions for collaborating with workgroups.
