HOSPITALITY SKILLS (Full Time)


This course aims to provide participants with the practical skills, knowledge and attitudes necessary to obtain employment in the Hospitality Industry by carrying out their training both in an on-the-job setting and at a training centre. On successful completion of the programme, learners may also progress to further education and training.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: Applicants seeking entry to the programme must have achieved a minimum of a QQI / FETAC level 3 award or its equivalent prior to entry to the programme.
  • Aptitude: Ability to follow direction and work on own initiative, and learners who can show a genuine interest and understanding of the vocation required for this sector. The programme will suit learners who are seeking to develop specific skills for employment in the hospitality industry in Cork. The Level 2 Diploma Food and Beverage Services is for candidates who wish to work in the hospitality industry and may already have knowledge of the basic principles of restaurant or bar work, or who can demonstrate commitment and enthusiasm to work and study in order to supplement their existing knowledge. Learners will be required to display both practical skills and the associated knowledge in order to complete the assessments
  • Previous Experience: applicants may have achieved some standard of knowledge, skill and competence through relevant work experience.
